The Department of Theatre Studies supports postdoctoral research in fields related to the academic disciplines and research interests of its faculty members.

The Department of Theatre Studies accepts applications for postdoctoral research throughout the year. Applications must be submitted through the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) Electronic Protocol System. Exceptionally, calls for applications may be announced for specific academic disciplines or research fields.
Applicants must indicate the faculty member of the Department who will supervise the postdoctoral research and submit all required supporting documents.

Access the NKUA Electronic Protocol SystemUpon completion of the postdoctoral research, the researcher, in collaboration with the supervising faculty member and with the approval of the three-member advisory committee, submits a final completion report to the Department Assembly.
The research findings are then presented publicly on a date and at a venue designated by the Department Secretariat.
In addition, at least one publication in a recognized scientific journal, an international conference proceeding, or a peer-reviewed book chapter is required. Alternatively, an official letter of acceptance for publication may be submitted.
