Greek, born in Alexandria, Egypt.

Professor at the Department of Theatre Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (appointed: 1991). Head of the Department (2011-2015).

Studies: Degree in Law (Athens - 1981), MA (DEA): Institut d’Etudes Théâtrales, Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3 (1982) and Doctorat: Institut d’Etudes Théâtrales, Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3 (1987) - Supervisors Bernard Dort (Paris 3) / Stathis Damianakos (CNRS).

Speaking: Greek – French – English – Italian – German.

Research topics: twentieth century theatre and stage directing, ancient drama in modern times, modern Greek theatre and drama, Italian Opera in Greece, Moliere and French Theatre.

Founder / member of the board of the European Network of Research and Documentation of Ancient Greek Drama Performances (1997-2018 / ancient-drama.net).

Research Fellow: International Research Centre Interweaving Performance Cultures at the Freie Universität Berlin (2017-2018)

Honorary Award: Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques, République Française (2014)
